It’s been a few years since Monique Samuels has been on The Real Housewives of Potomac. However, she remains visible thanks to hosting a morning radio show. Though Monique has expressed that she does not want to do reality TV again, she gets asked about her experience in interviews. Recently, the RHOP alum opened up about her time on the show and how she feels that production protected certain people.
Fans will recall that Monique joined RHOP during the show’s second season and immediately became a standout. However, she left after the show’s fifth season. She has since gotten a divorce from Chris Samuels, whom she had been married to since 2012.
Recently, during an interview, Monique spoke about one reason she’d never go back to the show despite many fans wanting to see her again. You can see the interview, which was captured by Bravohousewives on Instagram, below.
She spoke specifically about the binder incident at the reunion, “They didn’t show half of what was done. To this day, I still recall certain things that happened that weren’t shown.”
Monique continues by describing Gizelle Bryant‘s behavior and what they didn’t show.
“There was one point after the binder, the biggest memory I have and the thing I hate they didn’t show with Gizelle. She was so upset, and she was so quiet after lunch. Like had nothing to say. Chris came out and pretty much read her. She lost it and pretty much blurted out, ‘F you‘ and they never showed it. She lost it!”
Monique goes on, “That pretty much summed up why I left. They were constantly protecting the people who shouldn’t have been protected, and they kept these protections for people without protecting my innocent children. “
When asked why she thinks they protected certain cast members, Monique says because production knew they could control them as long as they kept them happy. She says this is the production’s way of “getting the show they want.”
