Dave Filoni has provided an update on the progress of Ahsoka Season 2. In a recent interview, Filoni confirmed that he is still actively writing the season and remains the sole writer on the project. His comments offer insight into the challenges of continuing the storylines introduced in the first season.

Dave Filoni says he’s still writing Ahsoka Season 2

Dave Filoni, Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer at Lucasfilm, has confirmed that he is still actively writing Season 2 of Ahsoka.

In a recent interview with Extra TV, Filoni revealed, “I’ve been writing it, and I’m still the single writer on it. I’ve been enjoying doing that, but it’s a challenge, of course. Working some of these arcs through has been a challenge and making sure it’s all gonna come out in a way that I think is exciting for fans.”

Filoni stated that the writing process focuses on resolving storylines from Season 1. The first season ended with Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren stranded in a distant galaxy. Meanwhile, Grand Admiral Thrawn returned to the main galaxy, creating a renewed threat. Filoni mentioned that fans are eager to see these arcs progress.

Filming for Ahsoka Season 2 is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2025, giving Filoni additional time to refine the scripts. Reports suggest updates about the season may emerge during the Star Wars Celebration in April 2025.

Filoni emphasized his excitement about working with the cast again, particularly Rosario Dawson, who portrays Ahsoka, stating, “I know that they’re interested in where some of the things I developed in Season 1 go, but I’m pretty happy with it.”

Season 1 of Ahsoka introduced key characters like Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, and Ezra Bridger. It also explored Star Wars lore, including the Mortis Gods. With unresolved storylines and high stakes, Season 2 aims to advance the broader Star Wars narrative.

Filoni confirmed that Ahsoka Season 2 is still in progress. Lucasfilm is prioritizing its development to ensure a smooth continuation of the story.
