RHOBH Star Kathy Hilton Gives a New Update on Kim Richards

Kathy Hilton may not be an official diamond holder on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but many fans are delighted to see her back this season. This return comes months after her sister Kim Richards had a highly discussed breakdown following a relapse. Now, Kathy is giving an update on her sister as well as revealing what makes her longtime marriage work.

As fans know, Kathy has been married to Richard Hilton since 1979. He keeps a pretty low profile, but it’s also easy to see that Kathy is in love. 

This week, Kathy hosted her annual DIRECTV Christmas Party at her home in Bel Air. There were several celebrities in attendance, and Kathy did an interview with PEOPLE. They discussed quite a bit, and she also gave an update on her sister Kim. 

“She’s doing well. Yes. We’ll all be together,” said Kathy as she confirmed Kim will be spending the upcoming Christmas holiday with her family.

Kathy also gave an update about her sister back in October. At the time, she said, “We love her and we support her, and that’s all I can say.”

The RHOBH star also opened up a bit about her holiday plans and who from her family plans to host this year. She said, “Paris wants to do one of them… I’m used to doing it all. Or we go to Kyle’s or we go to Kim’s, so I will see.” 

Kathy also shared that she keeps things simple when it comes to getting gifts for her grandchildren. According to her, “You know what? I asked them what they want. I just get them a couple of things, and that’s it.”

She also spoke to Page Six at the Christmas party about how she keeps the magic going with her longtime husband. She said, “I think just — respect. And honesty. And if you’re upset about something, you talk about it right away.”

Her advice didn’t stop there. Kathy continued, “Keeping the right influences, like, the right couples around.” She also thinks keeping the mystery in the relationship helps. 

Finally, she also said that couples should “never go to bed upset.” Of course, this is standard advice, but many people forget it when times get complicated in a relationship.
