When Beka Gillis planned a vision board party and it didn’t exactly work out as she had hoped, she took to TikTok to share her feelings about it.

Her video quickly went viral with tons of comments from viewers from all over the world who said they would have loved to join her party. The idea to have a virtual party to include anyone interested, regardless of where they live, then became a reality and now she’s promoting it on her page enthusiastically.

Beka shared her party dilemma in a TikTok video that has since gone viral with more than 1 million views and nearly 12,000 supportive comments.

“I’m so sad right now, bestie,” she started her video. “I planned a vision board making party six weeks in advance. Sent out real invitations, invited 30 girls of one I’m only close with but it is just so hard to make friends and build community when you’re in your 30s and in a place you’re not from, and that’s just what I’m trying to do.”

She added, “If you can’t find it, create it” and said that she did get seven RSVPs, and that made her happy.

“I truly believe whoever is meant to be here will be here,” she continued in her video. “I spent so much time and so much money preparing for this party.”

Beka told The Blast exclusively that she’s trying to find a sense of community and likeminded people, and the party was one way of doing just that.

“It just kind of seemed like everything I did, there was no sense of community. People were kind of stuck with their groups and in their ways,” she said. “Nothing was working out for me and so my mom has always told me if you can’t find it, create it, and so that was one of my goals for 2024.”

Preparing Her Vision Board Making Party With Lots Of Details

Beka went all out for the party with a “disco and fresh floral spread on the table,” a food menu, all of the supplies needed to create the vision boards, and more. She planned to do a “let that sh– go ceremony” with balloons, as well as an activity to write a letter to your future self. She even got all the participants gifts.

“I understand things happen and people have to bail,” she said in her video. “But I woke up to five of them bailing this morning and now the second to last one just texted and said they can’t make it either.”

While she said she doesn’t “blame anyone,” it’s “discouraging” and she’s “sad” because she “wants to build the friendships and community so bad.”

Beka said she’s been trying for a while to do things similar to the vision board making party, but unfortunately it hasn’t worked out as she hoped.

“The night before I was setting up for the party and I was really excited. I told myself in my mind that whoever’s supposed to be here tomorrow is going to be here,” she told The Blast. “I don’t think these girls bailed. They literally all have legitimate reasons. It just sucks that it all happened at once but it was interesting how I put that pre-protection over myself in a way and so as it was happening, I kept reminding myself it’s okay, it’s exactly how it’s supposed to be.”

Beka Received Tons Of Support In The Comment Section

Beka didn’t expect her video to blow up the way it did and so quickly. The video received tons of supportive comments and ideas. She explained that TikTok has always been an “outlet” for her and “therapeutic.”

“I’ve cried a lot on TikTok. To me, it’s always been a form of therapy,” she told The Blast. “It’s almost like, nobody’s going to see this. At least nobody I know so it feels low risk.”

She said she posted her reaction for herself and for the “couple of people who can relate to it and feel less alone.” But the video grabbed tons of attention and support.

“As a fellow girly living in a state with no childhood connections, I identify with this so much. Just keep going, you will find your people,” one person shared. Another added, “THIS is EXACTLY what was supposed to happen. This wasn’t rejection it was REDIRECTION- Watch what amazing things happen in your world as a result. Sorry you had the hurt, but things will get better.”

And many offered the idea of a virtual party, which Beka seemed to love based on a follow up video responding to the comments, “Do it virtually! We will join.”

“Are you joking, bestie? This is actually kind of crazy, because as I was planning for this vision board party, I was showing everything to my mom last night and she was like, ‘This is so incredible, Beka, I’m so proud of you, this is a blessing to people, why don’t you do this virtually to build community?’ And now I have all of my TikTok besties that want to show up, that want to do this, that wish they were invited to something like this,” she said. “So why don’t we just do it?”

A Virtual Vision Board Making Party Is Set For January 11

Beka shared many follow up videos addressing comments people left for her. A video she shared a few days ago talked about the virtual vision board party that she’s planning.

“We are going to be doing the virtual vision board party on January 11,” she said. “We are going to do it in the evening. I will let you know the exact time, but it’s going to be something friendly for like west coast and east coast, like a good time for both parties.”

In another video shared a few days later, Beka gave the supply list for anyone who plans to join the virtual party.

Some things on her list include a base for the board (poster board, canvas, cork board, etc.), scissors, glue sticks, double sided tape, thumb tacks, and your visions (quotes, photos).

Beka shared more details with The Blast about things to consider when choosing what to add to your vision board.

“Obviously, whatever you put on the board, is going to be different for everyone. A lot of times it’s health, career, relationships, hobbies, or what it’s like showing up as your best self, how that looks and feels to you,” she exclusively told The Blast. “It’s just kind of figuring out what those are, whether you want to cut from a magazine or go straight to Pinterest or Google or even photos from your own life. People can pick their direction that way.”

The Final Details And How To Sign Up For The Virtual Vision Board Making Party

Beka recently shared a video on TikTok with all the details of her upcoming virtual vision board making party.

“The virtual vision board party is now live. You can register for it. It’s January 11,” she said. “Go to my profile, click and register. It’s going to be amazing. It’s gonna be transformative.”

She then shared some information about what this party is going to look like for anyone interested in joining.

“The first hour is gonna be a workshop on Zoom,” she said. “We are going to get deep. Once you register for the workshop, you are gonna receive some worksheets. One is for you to kind of assess what are your limiting beliefs, what is blocking you from achieving your goals, and it’s gonna be very therapeutic. Another one is going to be kind of a like a brain dump with all the categories you wanna focus on in your life for your vision board.”

There will also be some mindset questions to “help you get in the right headspace.”

During the workshop there will be a “gratitude ceremony,” a limiting beliefs ceremony, and Beka plans to “walk you through and teach you how to manifest,” and more.

The second hour of the event will be the “party part” with music, snacks, and making your boards. This part of the event will be live on TikTok. The workshop begins at 5 p.m. PT on January 11, and the vision board party live on TikTok begins at 6 p.m. PT.
