Spider-Man 4 Director Teases ‘Incredibly Relatable’ MCU Movie

Scott Eastwood, known for his roles in Suicide Squad, Pacific Rim Uprising, and Gran Torino, has expressed interest in playing Batman in James Gunn’s DC Universe with The Brave and the Bold.

At 38, Eastwood has yet to step into a superhero role, though he came close in 2016’s Suicide Squad, where he played the military operative GQ Edwards.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Eastwood shared: “I mean, I think out of the DC universe, I’m definitely a Batman guy.“

“I think he’s the most interesting character because he is living double lives that are kind of a little bit more intriguing to me than some of the other ones. Yeah, I don’t know. There’s something cool about that character.”

Following the release of Suicide Squad, there was a fan-theory that his character might secretly be Dick Grayson/Nightwing. Eastwood acknowledged that during the interview, saying:

“I know that there was talk about making me into another character and coming back.” However, plans fell through when James Gunn took over the franchise. He said:

“It just . . . David Ayer didn’t direct that next film then. I was like, ‘Look, let’s just see. Let’s see what the next thing holds. Is it a cool character? Who is it?’ And that never came around because he didn’t direct the film, so it was a different movie.”

When pressed about Warner Bros. and DC Studios’ intentions for his character, Eastwood admitted the details were vague, saying:

“They didn’t know. They were just talking about who he could come back as, and we could make him somebody and this and that, and they hadn’t really landed on any of that.”

Personally, I don’t see Eastwood in the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman, but it will be interesting to see who Gunn does end up casting in the role in The Barve and the Bold.

Who would you like to see play Batman in the DCU?
