Roommates, Young Thug didn’t waste any time clearing the air about a move from prosecutors against his limited freedom. As previously reported, the rapper is serving a 15-year probation bid after accepting a plea deal in October 2024. On Wednesday (April 2), the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office filed a motion asking a judge to revoke Jeffrey Williams’ probation. The move comes after Thugger blasted DA Marissa Viverito in a now-deleted social media post.

Details About Motion Filed By Fulton County Prosecutors

Fulton County prosecutors are seemingly gunning for the Atlanta rapper to serve his “backlogged” 20 years in prison.  Their court motion accuses him of engaging in “conduct that threatens the safety of witnesses and prosecutors” and “compromises ongoing legal proceedings.” As a result, the prosecutors are seeking “immediate revocation of probation.” The court documents also labeled the artist “a clear and present danger to public safety.”

As mentioned, the STRONG motion against Young Thug comes after he blasted Marissa Viverito on X, formerly Twitter. According to the court documents, Viverito is testifying in a multi-defendant gang murder preliminary hearing. A judge previously banned the media from showing her face during testimony, but that order was allegedly ignored by an unnamed blogger.

On April 1, Thugger shared the district attorney’s image on X, writing, “Marissa Viverito is the biggest liar in the DA’s office.” His tweet got at least two million views and multiple comments and replies, especially some dragging Viverito. The post is no longer available on Thugger’s profile.

Fulton County prosecutors are alleging that Young Thug’s post inspired a wave of threats against Viverito. One stan allegedly exposed the attorney’s home address and her parent’s home address. Another shared a post encouraging people to “pull up” on Marissa’s mother. Meanwhile, a third cited example was a post threatening the assassination of Fani Willis, who attempted to take Thugger down in the RICO trial.

“This ongoing manipulation of public perception through social media is intended to obstruct justice, silence witnesses, and threaten those who enforce the law,” the court documents said.

Prosecutors are claiming Thugger violated his probation terms by threatening public safety with his tweet and other social media posts. “The integrity of this Court and the safety of those involved in this prosecution are at stake. The Defendant’s probation should be immediately revoked to prevent further harm, ensure compliance with the law, and send a clear message that witness intimidation and threats against public officials will not be tolerated,” the documents state.

Young Thug Shares Statement After Motion News Spreads

Prosecutors want the court to remand Young Thug into custody without delay. However, the attorneys are also open to an immediate hearing to revoke or modify Thugger’s probation terms. Not only that, the District Attorney’s Office wants the rapper to reimburse them for their team’s heightened security. Amid the news of the prosecutor’s motion, Thugger circled back to X with a lil’ PSA about himself. As mentioned, the Marissa tweet is no longer visible on his public page. It has over 700,000 views and climbing.

“I don’t make treats to people I’m a good person, I would never condone anyone threatening anyone or definitely participate in threatening anyone. I’m all about peace and love,” Young Thug wrote.

What To Know About Rapper’s Trial & Probation Terms

You might recall how Young Thug’s trial went viral for how it DRAGGED. Ultimately, the proceedings claimed the title of the longest trial in Georgia history. Jury selection alone took 10 months, and testimony didn’t start until November 2023. By that time, it had been more than a year since Atlanta officials took Thugger into custody for conspiracy and racketeering charges in May 2022.

Nearly a year after the trial started, Young Thug agreed to plead guilty to six counts of gang-related activities. However, he pled no contest to a count related to leading a street gang and to one count of conspiracy to violate the RICO act.

In a hearing, a judge seemingly granted the rapper a lil’ grace despite prosecutors seeking 25 years in prison and another 20 on probation. Instead, Thugger got sentenced to 40 years, which included five years in prison. However, that time was commuted to time served. The judge also “backloaded” the additional 20 years. If Thugger violates his probation, he will automatically have to serve out that time.

Additional probation terms included a 10-year ban from the Atlanta metro area. He’s also required to host four concerts or events denouncing gang violence while being careful not to glorify gangs in any way. Young Thug did get permission to travel for work, though.
