The first reactions to David F. Sandberg’s film adaptation of the horror game Until Dawn have surfaced on social media, and those who have seen it, seem to love it!

The response has been very positive as critics calling it one of the best horror movies of the year. It’s being called a “delightfully ingenious horror film”, “a meta horror blast”, “super fun”, “gloriously bloody and gory”, and “a blast”.

The story sees the young characters being brutally killed only to come back to try to survive all over again, and they have to continue to survive until dawn.It was previously explained that every time a character comes back to life, it’s like they enter a whole new horror genre.

In the story, “One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers.

“Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one…only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening.

“Trapped in the valley, they’re forced to relive the nightmare again and again – only each time the killer threat is different, each more terrifying than the last.

“Hope dwindling, the group soon realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn.”

The cast of the film includes Ella Rubin (The Idea of You), Michael Cimino (Never Have I Ever), Ji-young Yoo (Expats), Odessa A’zion (Hellraiser), Peter Stormare, Maia Mitchell and Belmont Cameli.

The film is described as “an R-rated love letter to the horror genre,” and it will be released on April 25th.
