A24 has released a new trailer for its upcoming romance film Materialists, which stars Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal. The movie is said to be a “fresh take on the math of modern love.”
It’s funny because the trailer has that silly narration that used to be used in all the trailer for romance films in the 90s.
The story follows an ambitious New York City matchmaker whose services are highly sought after by New York City’s elites. However, her expertise isn’t as easily translated to her own love life when she finds herself torn between her perfect match and her less-than-perfect ex.
The movie is written and directed by Celine Song, who previously helmed the highly acclaimed movie Past Lives, which explores the relationship of two childhood friends over the course of 24 years.
The cast also includes Zoe Winters, Marin Ireland, Dasha Nekrasova, Louisa Jacobson and Sawyer Spielberg.
Materialists hits theaters June 13th.
