Warner Bros. has revealed a new F1 video for the highly-anticipated sports action drama, starring Academy Award winner Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes. The movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 27, 2025, pitting it directly against Blumhouse’s horror sequel M3GAN 2.0 at the box office.

What happens in the F1 video?
The video continues highlight Pitt’s character Sonny Hayes, including his friendship with Javier Bardem’s character Ruben. He’s the one who’ll give Sonny the second chance he needs to return to Formula One, because he believes in his racing skils despite what everyone says about him. The ensemble cast also includes Damson Idris as Joshua Pearce, Kerry Condon as Kate, Tobias Menzies as Banning, Kim Bodnia as Kaspar, Shea Whigham as Chip, Sarah Niles as Bernadette, and more.
F1 is directed by Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski from a screenplay written by Ehren Kruger. The movie will also feature real-life Formula One racers, including producer Lewis Hamilton, Carlos Sainz Jr. and more. Kosinski and Pitt are also producing alongside Jerry Bruckheimer, Hamilton, Jeremy Kleiner, Dede Gardner, and Chad Omen, with Daniel Lupi serving as an executive producer.
“Dubbed ‘the greatest that never was,’ Sonny Hayes was Formula One’s most promising phenom of the 1990s until an accident on the track nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, he’s a nomadic racer-for-hire when he’s approached by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes, owner of a struggling Formula One team that is on the verge of collapse,” reads the movie’s official synopsis. “Ruben convinces Sonny to come back to Formula One for one last shot at saving the team and being the best in the world. He’ll drive alongside Joshua Pearce, the team’s hotshot rookie intent on setting his own pace. But as the engines roar, Sonny’s past catches up with him, and he finds that, in Formula One, your teammate is your fiercest competition — and the road to redemption is not something you can travel alone.”
