Marvel’s Thunderbolts* ignited some excitement in the Marvel fan community because it actually turned out to be a great movie! It was filled with some great interesting characters and each one of them has a cool and unique look.

Concept artist Constantine Sekeris recently shared a few early designs for Taskmaster and Ghost that offer a peek into the creative process behind their final on-screen looks. These alternate costumes don’t veer too far off from what we saw in the film, but there are some noticeable tweaks, particularly in Ghost’s helmet design and overall color palette.

“Here is a sneak peek at Ghost,” Sekeris wrote on Instagram. “You can see in this early design we played with having more grey break up….you have a chance to see many more exploration in the Art of Thunderbolts coming out soon …loved working on this project and loved the movie….more to come humbly thank you.”

While Taskmaster’s design retains much of the tactical feel we’ve come to expect, these early images hint at more exaggerated silhouette choices and detailed texturing that was ultimately toned down in the film. Ghost’s suit, meanwhile, shows off a sleeker, more segmented armor layout in shades of grey and silver.

As Thunderbolts* continues its theatrical run, the film has dropped to the No. 2 spot at the domestic box office, pulling in $16.5 million in its third weekend across 3,523 theaters, which is a 50% dip from the previous week.

That brings its domestic total to $155.4 million and its global haul to $325 million. The Fantastic Four: First Steps is next up on the plate, and I’m excited for that!

‘Bring Them Down’ is probably one of the best films I’ve ever seen. A brutal and believable examination of old family grudges in rural communities. Superbly shot. Sharp and to the point. As beautiful a piece of art as it is a moral reminder of how anger can lose everyone the battle.
