Brief History On Kai Cenat and Kanye West’s Beef
Now, Kai and Kanye have had a bit of a rocky history. In April 2024, Kai reviewed some Yeezy clothing, reportedly sent by Ye’s team. Ye didn’t like the comments and ended up calling Kai an “industry plant.” He also claimed he didn’t like Kai mentioning his daughter North West‘s name. Kai replied on another stream.
Eventually in February 2025, the two met outside of the Grammys in Los Angeles. Kai Cenat told Hollywood Unlocked that he was working on scheduling a streaming session with Ye. However, after Kanye’s big stunt with his naked wife, Bianca Censori, at the Grammy, followed by more anti-Semitic rants on X, Kai Cenat canceled the stream. In April 2025, Ye again came for Kai, calling him “corny.”

On Monday night (May 26), Kai Cenat attended the American Music Awards and live-streamed for his followers. This year, the ceremony took place at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on Memorial Day. The show was hosted by Jennifer Lopez.
At one point during the event, a man and his family approached Kai Cenat, who was sitting down enjoying the show during a break. In the viral clip pulled from Kai’s livestream, the two men greet each other and shake hands. The man then motions for his young daughter to say hi to Kai, who proceeds to ask for a high-five. The father then appears to jokingly asked his daughter, “Who let this guy in here?”

The man then directly asked Kai, “Hey, where’s Kanye?” Kai Cenat lets off a smooth, yet awkward laugh. The man continues to bulldoze, stating, “We want to say we love Ye. We love Ye for being outspoken, regardless. ‘Cause it’s America and I think it’s a great thing to live in a free country, don’t you, Kai?” Before the man could even finish his sentence, Kai turns to meet the camera, which zooms in on his stunned face.
The man continued, “I think it’s a free country and it’s good to have opinions.” Kai asked the man, “So, you really hopped on my stream, knowing my influence, to come on here and say that?” The man boasted, “Yeah. I think he’s a great guy. At the end of they day, you all could have an extra dialogue with him…“
Kai cut the man off and said, “Here, this is what I’mma say. I think I wanna protect my energy.” The man interjected, “Well, I think you letting him talk is a good thing.” Kai bulldozed back, “I’m an adult. I’mma politely ask you to get out of here, cuz. Please.” The man continued, “Well, we think it’s good to have different opinions.” Kai replied, “I get it. But, I don’t want that. Whatever you got going on you deal with that.”
