According to his friend and business partner Tai Savet who spoke to US Weekly, Guobadia was “in good spirits” despite the whole situation. After spending time locked up in Georgia’s Stewart Detention Center, it seems like Simon has accepted his fate… and surprisingly, he ain’t even mad at Trump over it.
Simon Guobadia’s Friend Speaks Out: “He’s In Good Spirits”
In an exclusive update, Tai Savet shared some insight into what Simon’s dealing with now that he’s back overseas. Savet revealed the 61-year-old entrepreneur is still focused and doing his best to keep a positive outlook. And in a twist many didn’t see coming — Simon wants to sit down with Donald Trump.
Yep, you heard that right.
Despite being deported under harsh immigration crackdowns that ramped up under Trump-era policies, Simon reportedly ain’t holding a grudge.
“He’s Not Mad at Trump”
While being behind bars was an unpleasant experience for Simon, he says Guobadia is not mad at President Donald Trump over his ICE crackdown, and would like a sit-down with him, Savet told outlets.
Porsha Williams Clears Her Name
Let’s not forget — when all this first hit the blogs, the internet was convinced Porsha had something to do with Simon’s arrest. But she clapped back, loud and clear.
While appearing on The Breakfast Club, Porsha set the record straight:
“No, no,” to the rumors. “It doesn’t benefit me at all for him to be locked up,” she said. “Mentally and financially, it doesn’t benefit me. Just because you’re going through a divorce doesn’t mean you hate someone. I hate actions, I hate lies, I hate a lot of characteristics, but I love the person, you know, and I would never wish harm on anybody.”
Why Was Simon Detained in the First Place?
Simon Guobadia reportedly overstayed his visa after moving to the U.S. in 1982. In February, he was taken into custody as part of ICE’s broader immigration enforcement — a move that raised eyebrows considering his public profile and previous reality TV fame.
Guobadia’s name is no longer listed on the U.S. Department of Homeland Security website, confirming he is no longer in their custody.
So where’s Simon now? According to Savet, back in Nigeria — regrouping, laying low, and keeping quiet for the moment.
Still Silent on Social Media
So far, Simon Guobadia hasn’t made any official public statement on his own social platforms. No Instagram post, no X (Twitter) rant, no video message — nada.
But knowing Simon, something’s coming. And you know the people are waiting.
