While speaking with an Italian publication, The Perks of Being a Wallflower star shared some details regarding the environment they were in while dealing with their controversies.
Ezra Miller noted to Lo Speciale Giornale, “When you work in this industry, you will find yourself in deep, deep relation to people who do not give single f–k about you or your well being, at all.”
Nevertheless, the 32-year-old thespian did take accountability for the mishaps that have affected their career. They added, “Not that I don’t hold a lot of remorse and lamentation for a lot of things I did and a lot of things that happened in that time. But I’m really, really grateful for the lessons that came of this.”
Ezra Miller, who recently made headlines for attending the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, had their first controversy in 2020 when a video of the actor choking a woman in Iceland went viral on the internet. Since then, they have been part of multiple altercations, attracting a plethora of legal issues along the way.
With Miller’s acting career taking an abrupt pause due to their numerous controversies, the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them star is now preparing to make a comeback with Lynne Ramsay’s upcoming directorial venture. “I’m working with her again,” they said, while talking about Ramsay’s vampire project that will feature them in a leading role. “That will likely be the first thing I do, is a film that she and I are writing together. I’ve been writing a lot because you can do that in solitude, which has been friendly to me,” they added.
When asked about their current relationship with cinema, Ezra Miller responded by saying, “Tentative — I’d say on tentative grounds.”
