Why Kim Was Accused of Taking Her Daughters’ Money
The drama kicked off during the series premiere of ‘Next Gen NYC,’ where Ariana didn’t hold back about her mom and dad, Kroy Biermann. In a heated confessional, Ariana alleged that Kim was secretly taking money from the earnings she made as a teen through Instagram brand deals.
“I can’t say exactly what they used it on because I just found out that it was gone two years ago,” Ariana said. “I don’t even know how much money I made over the time period. Nobody was honest. There was no transparency. And I have no idea where it actually went.”
The revelation surprised some viewers, painting Kim as a mom who might’ve been mismanaging her daughters’ funds. The accusations didn’t stop at Ariana, though, as Brielle’s money was allegedly touched too, leaving viewers wondering what really went down in the Zolciak-Biermann household.
Kim Responds To The Accusations
Kim wasn’t about to let these claims slide without telling her side. During her appearance on ‘Watch What Happens Live’ with Andy Cohen on July 31, the former ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star got real about Ariana’s accusations. Kim didn’t deny taking the money but gave context to the situation. “Actually, the rug was pulled out from the Zolciaks, and Ariana’s money was spent on bills, to be honest. I was left holding the bag for the family,” Kim explained, per Us Magazine. She admitted to using Ariana’s earnings to cover household expenses such as utilities. This was because Kim says she was left with “nothing” after financial struggles hit hard.
When Andy pressed about Brielle’s money, Kim kept it all the way real. “Brielle paid an electric bill here and there… I was left with nothing, so I had to figure it out fast,” she said. Kim insisted she’s already paid Ariana back for what was borrowed and promised to settle any remaining debts.
“The money I borrowed from Ariana, I paid her back … for the bills and stuff. And as far as what she’s made and all that stuff, I don’t have the spreadsheets, but she will be [paid back],” she said.
Kim’s explanation gave skeptical fans some clarity about Ariana’s initial claims, assuring that she has (or is in the process of) paying the money back.
