Jason Derulo Says He’ll ‘Never Work with Women Again’ After Dismissed Sexual Harassment Case: ‘It’s A sad Truth’ — What Happened?
Jason Derulo is back in the headlines after making a serious statement about how he plans to move moving forward in the industry, and the internet is already debating every word. The comments come during a detailed conversation featured on a new episode of In Depth with Graham Bensinger, released Thursday, December 4. His remarks also come as the sexual harassment lawsuit filed by singer Emaza Dilan continues to resurface, even after judges dismissed it twice.
Derulo spoke on the accusations that have followed him for nearly two years. Even though courts in both California and Nevada dismissed the case, he explains that the impact on his brand partnerships, business relationships, and public perception has not gone away. The singer says the legal situation still shadows parts of his career, especially when it comes to who he works with and how he moves behind the scenes.
Singer Emaza Dilan originally brought forward the lawsuit, accusing Derulo of sexual harassment and other misconduct. After dismissals in two states, the case was refiled in New York only days after Derulo recorded the interview. Although the courts previously declined to proceed with the claims, Derulo states that the situation continues to shape the way people view him in the industry.
When asked what lesson he took from the ordeal, Derulo responded instantly with a comment that surprised many.
“Never work with women.” The interviewer pushed back, questioning whether Derulo meant what he said, and Derulo clarified his stance. Even though the first answer sounded blunt, he repeated the underlying message he now follows to protect himself.
“I will never be alone in a room with a woman that I work with… ever, ever again,” he said. “There’s truth in every joke. But it’s a sad truth.”
Derulo also addressed one of the more bizarre allegations mentioned in Dilan’s lawsuit, a claim suggesting he “sacrificed a goat in a sexual ritual.” He dismissed that statement completely.
“That case was dismissed twice,” Derulo said. “And I lost so many brand deals, relationships off of a story that was not even slightly believable.”
Throughout the interview, Derulo kept his tone focused on the facts while revealing how deeply the situation changed his boundaries in the workplace. For him, the case is more than a headline. It’s a moment he says reshaped his professional world, even after courts declined to move the claims forward.
