Apple TV just released the first trailer for Season 2 of Idris Elba’s thriller Hijack, and Sam Nelson is trading the skies for the rails.
If you enjoyed watching Nelson negotiate his way through a hijacked plane in the first season, this new season is about to push him into another claustrophobic and volatile situation.
Season 1 followed the cool headed business negotiator as he tried to defuse a hijacking mid flight from Dubai to London. Season 2 switches to the Berlin Underground where a train car is overtaken and Nelson is thrust back into crisis mode.
The trailer features commuters panic, masked intruders seize control and Nelson steps forward to do what he does best. The new setting brings a different kind of pressure. There is nowhere to run and every stop could turn fatal.
Above ground, law enforcement scrambles to piece together what is unfolding below although their approach may clash with Nelson’s instincts and his closer view of the danger inside.
The series brings back Christine Adams, Max Beesley and Archie Panjabi who once again step into the chaos with Elba. New faces join the mix including Christian Näthe, Clare Hope Ashitey, Lisa Vicari, Toby Jones, Karima McAdams and Christiane Paul.
Elba’s performance previously earned him an Emmy nomination and Hijack became one of Apple TV’s most watched dramas.
Apple TV released the trailer with the logline “The crises are different, but Sam Nelson will always be Sam Nelson.” It is a confident promise that this new ordeal will test him in fresh ways without losing the grounded intensity that made the first season so gripping.
The new chapter arrives January 14, 2026 with eight episodes rolling out weekly until the March 4 finale.
