Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jordan Ngatikaura questioned if Dakota Mortensen is “soft launch[ing]” a new relationship with a cryptic post, as the alleged new girlfriend responded.
According to a report, Dakota’s ex, Taylor Frankie Paul, recently filmed the final rose ceremony for The Bachelorette, suggesting she may now be engaged to another man. Earlier this month, castmate Marciano Brunette said he heard that Taylor and Dakota were hooking up until she left to film the dating show.
On December 16, Dakota posted a series of Instagram photos and videos leading fans to believe he’s soft-launching a relationship.
In one photo, he’s in Los Angeles at a restaurant table with two plates. In a video, a blond woman seems to jump in front of the camera for a split second. In the next image, his face is covered by someone’s long blond hair.

He also posted a photo of what appeared to be a woman’s hand with painted nails, holding chopsticks at a restaurant. Later on, Dakota seemed to put his foot in a much smaller flip-flop, presumably belonging to someone else.

He captioned the post, “LA tings.”
In the comments, via @themormonwivesreport on Instagram, Dakota’s good friend Jordan asked if the post was a “soft launch.” An hour later, Emma Shippen, a woman who fans are speculating is Dakota’s girlfriend, responded to Jordan’s comment, writing, “Who is she!!”
Back in September, on Call Her Daddy, Taylor announced her casting on The Bachelorette while sharing where she stands with Dakota.
“It’s over,” said Taylor of their relationship. “I [ended it] … It just did not work out. There were certain things that were forever closing for me. And again, everyone will see that. And I, you know, I can’t speak on that yet, but it closed the book for me, but it was really hard to let go. That was a hard pill to swallow that I can’t be with you now.”
Taylor shared that she’ll only say yes to an engagement at the end of The Bachelorette “if it’s the right person.”
The newest season of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives recently dropped on Hulu.
