Is Colman Domingo finally gearing up to join the MCU? The actor reveals what role he’d want to play if he ever joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
There’s truly an endless amount of actors that fans would like to see join the MCU. However, if there’s a single person that fans have ordained as THE most wanted actor to take on a Marvel role, it’s Colman Domingo. The actor has been on an absolute tear across genres in recent years, with many considering him perfect for a large bevvy of roles.
Of course, Colman Domingo has dipped his toes into the world of super heroics already. He voiced one of Marvel’s greatest villains, Norman Osborn, in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. However, he’s yet to make his full transition into the MCU by playing the character in live-action, leaving many to question if that’s even something he wants.
Colman Domingo’s Wish For Joining The MCU
Sitting down with The Direct, Colman Domingo was asked what would make him rip off the band-aid and fully plunge himself into a Marvel role. The actor revealed that his one dream for joining the franchise isn’t a specific role. Rather, he wants to play a villain in the MCU – one that can make the audience feel for them.
“Villains. I think I’m meant to play a villain. I don’t know why, and I think I’m such a lovable person (laughs), but I find it’s more interesting to play a villain. I think it’s more complex. I think the idea of getting the audience to pull a tear on a villain is interesting to me”
“So, I think that’s more complicated, more interesting than just a heroic dude, just a hero. I mean, I don’t know, I feel like…Let’s make it happen. Let’s do it.”
This quote already has fans going into overdrive speculating that Colman Domingo may officially take on the role of Green Goblin in the MCU. Though, given Marvel is likely in a gestating period to find their path after the Multiverse Saga, it’s not likely they’ll be signing any major actors to roles anytime soon.
