The next few Marvel movies are some of the most anticipated in some time, and the rumors surrounding them have been swirling like crazy! So here’s another one to throw at the wall while we wait to see what stuck.
This one comes from industry scooper Daniel Richtman, who claims that Spider-Man: Brand New Day will feature “another Netflix character” in the film “beside Punisher and The Hand. And no, it’s not Daredevil.”
So there are a few possibilities as to who this could mean, including Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, who we’ve seen return in the new Daredevil series; Mike Colter as Luke Cage, who would love to return, and fans would be equally stoked; Iron Fist, who was a divisive character in the Netflix series, as fans did not like the casting; or Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, who seems like a likely possibility as she was a fan-favorite, and has already been cast in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) from a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
The movie will also feature the return of Emmy winner Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. Joining them are Sadie Sink (Stranger Things), Jon Bernthal (Daredevil: Born Again) as Frank Castle/Punisher, Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear) as Cathy, Michael Mando (Better Call Saul) as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, Marvin Jones III (Black Lightning) as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone, and Tramell Tillman (Severance). Mark Ruffalo is also reprising his iconic role as Bruce Banner/Hulk in Brand New Day.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit theatres on July 31, 2026.
