A full official trailer has landed for Moses the Black, and it sets the tone for a brutal, modern Chicago crime story with a heavy moral backbone. Presented by Simeon Faith, NM Cinematic Fund, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, the film leans hard into the idea that violence always comes with consequences.

Inspired by the story of the 4th century saint, the film reimagines that path of repentance through the lens of present-day gang life in Chicago.

The trailer is packed with raw confrontations, escalating power struggles, and a sense that every choice pushes these characters closer to a breaking point.

Omar Epps stars as Malik, a seasoned gang leader trying to maintain control as pressure mounts from all sides. Standing directly in his orbit is Wiz Khalifa, playing 2wo-3ree, the confident and volatile head of Malik’s younger crew.

Their uneasy alliance is threatened by Straw, a rival gang leader played by Quavo, setting up a power struggle that drives much of the film’s tension. The spiritual core of the story comes through the presence of St. Moses the Black, portrayed by Chukwudi Iwuji, tying the modern narrative back to its historical inspiration.

The supporting cast includes Corey Hendrix, Cliff Chamberlain, Ahmad Ferguson, Sambou “Bubba” Camara, Kierra Bunch, Skilla Baby, and Deontay Wilder.

The film is directed by Yelena Popovic, whose previous work includes L.A. Superheroes and Man of God. Fathom Entertainment is set to release Moses the Black in theaters nationwide starting January 30th, 2026.
