Nikki Glaser’s return as Golden Globes host received a direct and hopeful response from the show’s producers following the 2026 broadcast. The morning after the ceremony, producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner discussed Glaser’s possible return and praised her performance.

Nikki Glaser’s return as Golden Globes host is entirely possible

Nikki Glaser’s return as Golden Globes host is possible, according to the show’s producers. Glaser told Variety she would be open to hosting again next year. Executive producer Glenn Weiss stated, “I certainly hope so,” when asked if she might return for a third time.

Weiss praised Glaser, saying, “She is one of the hardest working people I’ve met in this industry… not just how funny she is, but how hard she works.” Producer Ricky Kirshner added, “Nikki is such a great talent… she really, truly found her place here.”

Glaser’s monologue included jokes aimed at CBS, including, “The award for most editing goes to CBS News. Yes. CBS News: America’s newest place to ‘see B.S.’ news.” Kirshner sat next to a CBS executive during rehearsal and noted that she texted a few people and approved the joke, saying, “Yeah, it’s OK. It’s fine.”

Weiss added that Glaser’s monologue worked because it poked fun at the industry as a whole: “We’re poking fun at everything in the industry, including ourselves.” Regarding the music parody segment featuring Fran Drescher, Weiss explained it came from the writers’ room and highlighted her line, “Your voice is so annoying,” as a standout moment.

Asked about material that didn’t air due to time, Weiss said, “There were a few beats, moments that definitely needed to be reduced or didn’t make the show.” The producers also explained their rationale for airing the original score category during a commercial break. “We wanted to do it respectfully… in front of their peers and everybody else,” Weiss said.

Producers have expressed strong support for Glaser’s return, and the network has not raised any objections.
