Melinda Gates says she’s feeling “unbelievably sad” after hearing the reports about her ex-husband, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, being named in the latest trove of Jeffrey Epstein files and being accused of catching an STD (sexually transmitted disease) from “Russian girls” and secretly planning to medicate his then-wife.

On Friday (January 30), the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) released over 3 million files from the criminal investigations into late convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein. In the latest set of documents released, a few files included draft emails Epstein addressed to himself.
In one of the July 18, 2023 emails, with “Bill” as the subject, Epstein alleges Bill Gates caught a sexually transmitted disease from “Russian girls” and received antibiotics. The email read:
“To add insult to the injury you then subsequently with tears in your eyes, implore me to please delete the emails regarding your std, your request that I provide you antibiotics that you can surreptitiously give to Melinda, and the description of your penis.”

Addressing the claims, a spokesperson for Bill Gates denied the allegations, declaring:
“These claims are absolutely absurd and completely false. The only thing these documents demonstrate is Epstein’s frustration that he did not have an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to entrap and defame.”
Additionally, Gates’ ex-wife, Melinda French Gates, has addressed the latest documents released from the Justice Department’s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. In a preview of her interview on NPR’s Wild Card podcast, set to air Thursday (February 5), Gates said she’s feeling “unbelievably sad.”
Host Rachel Martin asked said:
“The emails in the files suggest that Bill Gates had additional affairs and that he tried to get medication to treat a sexually transmitted infection, and that he was going to give you the medicine without you knowing.
His representative has said all of this is false. It is not on you to have to respond to the details of that alleged behavior, but I wonder what your dominant emotion is when you read these news articles, with these details.”
Melinda Gates said:
“It’s sad, just unbelievable sadness. Unbelievable sadness, right? And again, I’m able to take my own sadness and look at those young girls and say, ‘My God, how did they—how did that happen to those girls,’ right? And so for me, it’s just sadness. Sadness for—you know, I left my marriage. I had to leave my marriage. I wanted to leave my marriage. I had to leave the found—I felt I needed to eventually leave the foundation. So, it’s just sad. That’s the truth, right? And it’s kind of like, at least for me, I’ve been able to move on in life.”
