Tyler Perry’s latest R-rated comedy just dropped its red band trailer on Netflix. The preview teases a no-holds-barred road trip led by a fan-favorite character from the Madea universe. It sets up a chaotic ride across the country, filled with foul-mouthed humor and outrageous moments.

Red band trailer for Tyler Perry’s Joe’s College Road Trip released

Netflix has released the official red band trailer for Tyler Perry’s Joe’s College Road Trip, premiering February 13, 2026.

Tyler Perry wrote, directed, and produced the film, and he also stars as Joe Simmons, Madea, and Brian Simmons. The trailer opens with a warning: “YOU’RE ABOUT TO SEE SOME F*%KED UP SHIT,” highlighting the film’s R-rated tone.

Joe’s College Road Trip follows Joe Simmons as he takes his college-bound grandson B.J., played by Jermaine Harris, on a cross-country journey meant to teach him real-world lessons. According to Netflix’s official logline, “In an effort to teach him about the real world, Joe takes B.J. on a cross-country college road trip where tensions get high but life-changing lessons are learned.”

The film is part of the Madea cinematic universe but shifts focus to Joe, a long-running supporting character. The cast includes Amber Reign Smith, Bethany Anne Lind, Jeremy Gimenez, Millie Jackson as Geraldine, Wil Deusner, Ms. Pat, and Nickolas Wolf as Todd.

Tyler Perry and Angi Bones produced the film under the Tyler Perry Studios banner. The production team filmed it in January 2024 across Las Cruces, New Mexico; Memphis, Tennessee; and Clarksdale, Mississippi.

Since Netflix released the red band trailer on its official YouTube channel on February 11, 2026, it has garnered over 27,000 views as of this writing. Viewers have reacted to its bold tone and chaotic humor with comments like “Hollywood really said let’s traumatize everyone” and “Joe is the OG Dirty Grandpa.”

Netflix will stream the film exclusively. Subscribers can add the title to their “My List” before its February 13 release.
