Lamorne Morris is opening up about some Spider-Verse Easter eggs in Spider-Noir, as well as a potential Season 2 of the Nicolas Cage-led show.
Spider-Noir is set to premiere on MGM+ and Prime Video this spring. Coming from showrunners Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, the live-action show stars Cage while Morris plays Daily Bugle reporter Robbie Robertson.
Cage previously voiced Spider-Noir in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse; however, that version of the character was a Peter Parker variant, while he’s playing Ben Reilly/The Spider in the show. Executive producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller have said that the show will address this change.
What did Lamorne Morris say about Spider-Noir Season 2?
Speaking with Variety, Morris was asked if Spider-Noir will have any Easter eggs that are specifically related to the Spider-Verse movies.
“Absolutely,” he said. “I can’t tell you what.”
Morris went on to sarcastically joke about Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield being in the show before he said, “We’ve got some really cool Easter eggs in there. I think the fans will really love it, for sure. Especially if you’re an OG Spider-Man fan. Like, if you’re diving back into Spider-Noir, there are people out there who will — and, already, the fanfare around it has been more than anything I’ve ever been a part of. So I’m super excited about it.”
When asked how long he was committed to the show and if Spider-Noir Season 2 was a possibility, Morris gave the confusing answer of, “Uh, I’ll just — you know. You know what I mean.”
The synopsis for Spider-Noir reads, “Spider-Noir is a live-action series based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir. Spider-Noir tells the story of Ben Reilly (Cage), an aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.”
Spider-Noir premieres on MGM+ on May 25, 2026, before it then comes to Prime Video on May 27. The show will be released in both black-and-white and in color.
