Alexa Curtin is speaking out about her fentanyl addiction as she continues to reside in Lancaster, California, years after suffering a falling out with her parents, including former Real Housewives of Orange County star Lynne Curtin.
After being met at a run-down motel known for being a hub for prostitution and drug use, where she’d slept in the cold and rain, Alexa, 33, who was described as “ghostly pale and sodden,” admitted that her life had been “beyond horrific” since leaving Bravo as she opened up about her drug use and her estrangement from Lynne, 69, and her father, Frank Curtin, and admitted to destroying her life
“The drug use started right after high school, and I started drinking heavily,” Alexa told the Daily Mail last week. “It snowballed and got worse when I started using pills. And then the pills switched over to the hard drugs.”
As RHOC fans may recall, Lynne joined the show in 2008 for season four, when Alexa was a 15-year-old rebellious teen. Looking back, she confessed to being stressed while filming and noted that the criticism she faced during her time on the show fueled her drinking.
“I don’t really talk about it, and I don’t even try to think about [RHOC]. I just feel like the show kind of portrayed me and my family in a really bad way. It was just it being played out in the public forum like that… was really hard for me, like really difficult because all my friends in school were watching it and they really weren’t too nice to me,” she shared. “I just like felt really isolated and I think that’s what made me turn to the drugs. I was really young at the time… at such a young age that’s like a vital time to portray someone in the wrong way, especially a minor.”
Years after her family, including her older sister, Raquel, 36, an OnlyFans model, left the show, Alexa is working to pay for her drug habit.
“I’m here, and I’m alive, but I don’t want to be. I’m not trying to get no one’s attention. I am f*cking being tortured. This is a cry for help,” she stated.
During the interview, Alexa suddenly got up, walking into a corner with other users and smoking a substance for 20 minutes. When she returned, the Daily Mail noted that her eyes were “bloodshot” before sharing that she later stormed off and got into someone’s car.
As the discussion continued, Alexa moved on to her parents, getting visibly irritated as she suggested her face was “shifting” and claimed she was an alien, but also God himself.
“Why can’t we love our flaws because if you’re going to have flaws, you might as well like them, right? I have a lot of them,” Alexa, who lost two fingers in a car accident, explained.
She then began to cry after being asked if she’d tried to harm herself in any way.
“I don’t even have parents anymore,” she said, revealing that she had lost touch with Lynne and Frank in 2019 following an argument about her car.
Continuing to get more upset, Alexa threw her arms in the air as she took aim at her father.
“F*ck you, Frank Curtin, you b*tch! I hate you,” she said as she lifted her shirt, exposing her bare chest.
After the outburst, Alexa fell asleep briefly before sharing that she had been handcuffed and raped for hours by a man who threatened to take her life months prior.
Previously faced with drug-related arrests and time behind bars, Alexa now spends her days trying to find “dates,” selling clothes for money, and frequenting a known crack house. At times, when she can’t afford a motel room, she’s forced to take cover in motel hallways with other homeless men and women and uses drugs to cope.
“I’ve destroyed my life, I’ve destroyed my future, and I don’t really care because I’m just going to keep doing the devil dance,” she concluded.
