NO DEAL: Vice President JD Vance reveals the United States has failed to reach an agreement with Iran after a high-level, historic 21-hours peace talk in Pakistan.

On Saturday (April 11), a White House official told Fox News Digital that the U.S., Pakistan, and Iran were holding a trilateral in-person meeting in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The meeting arrived after Donald Trump and his administration reached a ceasefire with Iran on Tuesday (April 7). Trump agreed to suspend additional airstrikes with the sole condition that Iran reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a global shipping route, with heavy oil tanker traffic. Trump wrote on Truth Social:
“Based on conversations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, of Pakistan, and wherein they requested that I hold off the destructive force being sent tonight to Iran, and subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks. This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE! The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all Military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive Agreement concerning Longterm PEACE with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East. We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate. Almost all of the various points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran, but a two week period will allow the Agreement to be finalized and consummated. On behalf of the United States of America, as President, and also representing the Countries of the Middle East, it is an Honor to have this Longterm problem close to resolution. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

Iran Agrees To Ceasefire With United States Then Fails To Strike Peace Deal, VP JD Vance Sends Warning
Iran agreed to allow passage through the strait. However, the route still remains severely backed up, leaving shipping companies hesitant about ramping up operations to normal speed amid continued security and enforcement concerns.
The ceasefire came during the United States’ ongoing Operation Epic Fury. The operation began as the U.S. helped Israel in launching airstrikes on Iran back on February 28. The military campaign targeted Iran’s military infrastructure following the collapse of nuclear negotiations between the nations.

During the meetings, VP Vance was joined by U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law. Together, they made up the senior delegation to broker a peace deal with Iranian officials — which included Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Speaker of Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
Following the high-level and historic 21-hours talk in Pakistan, VP Vance held a press conference to update Americans. He also threatened Iran not to call the United States’ bluff. VP Vance said the Pakistani officials “were incredible hosts” and “did an amazing job trying to help [the United States] and Iranians bridge the gap and get to a deal.”
“We have been at it for 21 hours and we’ve had a number of substantive discussions with the Iranians. That’s the good news. The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement. And I think that’s bad news for Iran, much more than that, it’s bad news for the United States of America.
So, we go back to the United States not having made an agreement. We’ve made very clear what our red lines are, what things we’re willing to accommodate them on, and what things we’re not willing to accommodate them on. And we’ve made that as clear as we possibly could, and they have chosen not to accept our terms.
The simple question is, do we see a fundamental commitment of will for the Iranians not to develop a nuclear weapon, not just now, not just two years from now, but for the long term? We haven’t seen that yet. We hope that we will. We leave here with a very simple proposal, a method of understanding that is our final and best offer. We’ll see if the Iranians accept.”
