“Cape Fear” – Preview: Javier Bardem Brings a New Wave of Terror to Apple TV’s Thriller Reimagining

This was a really great episode, it still left a cliffhanger on who Vasquez really likes out of Violet and Lizzie but I do think it confirmed that it doesn’t really matter who ends up with who because their friendship is the most important thing.
I have to admit this was a very cliche procedural episode but I did like that we got to see Vasquez using his cop instincts to find the medics. It really wouldn’t shock me if Vasquez’s eventual storyline ending lands with him applying to be a cop again.
I think it was great to see Violet and Novak air out what happened with Violet keeping the secret about Vasquez. Novak’s facial expressions during their first conversations showed that the words she was saying were not lining up with her actual feelings.
The title of this episode was mentioned multiple times within this episode, normally the title will only be mentioned once if at all. It made the episode have a more serious and tied together feeling. I really liked that it was mentioned right before Violet and Novak attacked Ryan, it fitted perfectly.
I truly did think that for the majority of this episode that at least one of the main characters was going to get seriously injured so I am very glad that it didn’t happen, although I do think it may have made the episode more dramatic than it ended up being.
Overall I really enjoyed this episode, however I do think that there could have been more suspense used to keep me more on the edge of my seat.
