Gizelle Bryant and Angelina Jolie have something in common nowadays — both have daughters who are part of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Not only that, but also their daughters, Angel, 19, and Zahara, 21, are in the same chapter of the sorority at Spelman College. The mother-daughter duos crossed paths at the college’s Atlanta-based campus because the Pearls of Purpose Foundation and the Nu Lambda Omega graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority hosted a mother-daughter brunch.
The Real Housewives of Potomac star shared a picture of the moment of herself, Angel, Zahara, and Angelina (and another lovely mother and her daughter) posing at the brunch in her Instagram stories. The Bryant ladies were twinning in baby-pink dresses and matching headpieces, while Angelina wore a white dress and Zahara rocked a floral-print look.
Angel is still in her early years, majoring in Health Science, and wants to minor in Spanish. She became a legacy member, following in Gizelle’s footsteps, in November 2025, and the reality TV star tearfully shared the moment on her Instagram. Gizelle became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. while she was attending Hampton University, where her daughter Adore is currently a student. In 2025, she celebrated 35 years as part of the sorority.
Zahara, on the other hand, joined the sorority in 2023 and is a senior at Spelman, majoring in psychology and minoring in educational studies. During the brunch, the 19-year-old gave a speech about mother-daughter relationships and gushed over Jolie in the process.
“When asked to speak with you all today on the value of mother-daughter relationships, it felt challenging to find the words,” Zahara started in a video shared on Instagram. “Not challenging because I don’t value it, but because my mom and I have a unique, almost kindred, relationship that can be hard to put into words.”
“Our love for each other is a found one. I was adopted at 6 months old and given some of the most special and loving people as my siblings, with a mom who raised us on the value of helping others, being kind, and always striving for growth as people,” she continued. “These values may sound simple, but in a world where kindness is overlooked and helping others comes at a cost, I am grateful to have had a role model to show me what it looks like to be a decent human being.”
Zahara is currently the vice president of the Mu Pi Chapter at the school. She’s also clear about the path she wants to take post-graduation — either a career in youth development or mentoring young girls. Looks like she’s headed in a positive direction, and the stars are her limit.
