Why Justin Hartley Credits Taylor Swift for Tracker Success

Apple TV is lining up another sleek, character-driven drama this summer with Lucky, premiering July 15, 2026, and it already has all the ingredients for a gripping binge.

Based on Marissa Stapley’s best-selling novel,Lucky, and adapted by Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas, the series stars Anya Taylor-Joy as a woman who has spent years trying to outrun the criminal life she was born into. Of course, as TV loves to remind us, the past doesn’t just stay buried, it waits.

The premise sets up a classic but compelling tension: a reformed protagonist forced to dive back into the very world she escaped. In this case, it is not just about survival, it is about identity. The series follows Taylor-Joy’s character as she is pulled back into crime “one final time” in a desperate bid to truly break free, suggesting a story that will balance high-stakes action with deeply personal consequences.

Given Tropper’s track record with emotionally layered storytelling and kinetic pacing, expect Lucky to lean heavily into both suspense and character psychology. This is not just a crime story, it is a redemption story with teeth. The idea of embracing one’s darker instincts in order to defeat them opens the door for morally complex choices, shifting loyalties, and plenty of tension.
And then there is Taylor-Joy, who continues to build a résumé full of magnetic, complicated women. Her ability to convey vulnerability and danger in the same breath makes her an ideal fit for a character caught between two worlds. If the series leans into that duality, Lucky could deliver a performance that anchors the entire show.

Visually and tonally, expect something in line with Apple TV’s polished, cinematic style—slick, moody, and character-focused. If it hits the right balance, Lucky could easily become one of the platform’s standout summer releases.

Bottom line: if you are into crime dramas with emotional depth, high-stakes reinvention, and a lead who is anything but predictable, Lucky is shaping up to be one to watch.
