Brian Pontarelli is being sued by his rumored mistress, Beth Walker, whom he accused of breach of contract in a filing of his own weeks ago.
Following Brian’s lawsuit against Beth, who has become a hot topic on The Real Housewives of Rhode Island in recent weeks due to her apparent affair with Brian, the husband of cast member Rulla Pontarelli, Beth is accusing him of slander, alleging that he made “defamatory and disparaging” comments about her on the Bravo reality series and other broadcasts.
According to a May 6 report from The Providence Journal, Beth filed a countersuit against Brian on May 5, stating that the confidentiality agreement they had was illegal and unenforceable since Brian had broken it prior to the social media posts she shared, which seemingly confirmed their affair. As Beth explained in her court documents, Brian mentioned her on RHORI and on Watch What Happens Live.
Beth also signaled to the April 26 episode of WWHL. During the show, Brian addressed claims of having left the cast’s polo day to see his mistress, leaving his wife, Rulla, behind.
“It’s preposterous that I left the pizza place, went to see this person, and then went back with her to the polo match … A lot of things that have happened have been almost like a setup,” he alleged. “A lot of stuff was edited out, but what I saw about it that I hated was to see the past come back because that was a while ago.”
Brian then denied that he was still involved with the mistress at that time.
“I was not engaged — not as a relationship. It was more, she was bitter, probably that I was on the show or that I was trying to make my marriage work. And it was like hate texts and things like that,” he shared.
The couple also referred to Beth as “the cockroach” on the episode.
As RHORI fans may have seen, Brian ran to court on April 13 to accuse Beth of violating a confidentiality agreement by “making public statements and social media posts” that gave a nod to their past romance.
Following the filing of the lawsuit and countersuit, Beth’s lawyer, Frank L. Orabona Jr., shared a statement with The Providence Journal.
“A public narrative has been created around my client, but narrative and facts are not always the same thing,” he said. “As this unfolds, the evidence will tell a very different story.”
The outlet proceeded to share a number of other issues mentioned in Beth’s case against Brian, which included a note that she had been “truthful” and “not disparaging.”
“As a result of the national publicity of the show, information related to [Brian’s] personal, romantic relationships is public knowledge nationally across the United States and locally in communities throughout Rhode Island; and is otherwise in the public domain,” her documents continued. “It is inequitable and unfair to allow [Pontarelli] a national platform to discuss topics to a coast-to-coast audience and prohibit Walker from speaking on the same topics and/or from correcting false information being spread by [Pontarelli] or others.”
It was also alleged that silencing her would be a violation of free speech.
Beth is seeking unspecified damages and wants Brian’s case against her thrown out.
A hearing has not yet been scheduled.
