This was a very emotionally charged episode of Sullivan’s Crossing and I loved it. The show is no stranger to deep conversations and situations, I think it is what makes it such a great watch. Everything that these people are experiencing are things that we naturally experience on a daily basis and being able to see yourself in these characters is a blessing. There is nothing that happens that is out of the realms of belief.

Quincey is a very confusing person, he seems to flip flop a lot with how he feels about people and how he behaves towards people. I was slightly on his side for some parts of this episode because regardless of whether Maggie was trying to do right by Tracy, it wasn’t her place to be making decisions about her medical care. However there were certainly moments that he was not in the right. His speech to the board of physicians was such a great twist, I was truly expecting him to make sure that Maggie wasn’t made a GP. I’m glad that it didn’t go that way.

If I’m honest I think Cal is way too invested in Ben and Tracy. I completely understand that their situation resonates with them but it’s almost as if he is trying to redeem himself by trying to save them. Cal naturally has a caring nature but I do think that because of all the outside noise from Maggie and Liam’s situation that Tracy and Ben are sort of an escape for him. It truly wouldn’t shock me if Cal offered to adopt Ben and Tracy to stop them from being put into foster care.

I did really appreciate the opportunity to see Cal be like an older brother to Ben. Ben really didn’t want to let Cal in physically and emotionally, but I think Cal’s story about his past allowed Ben to know that he could open up and not receive judgment from Cal. I just hope that Cal doesn’t take on too much of the burden from this situation, especially now that it appears that Ben has taken Tracy in his truck to get away from being put in foster care.

I already thought that there was something simmering between Syd and Amir but this episode definitely confirmed my feelings. The push and pull from them this episode was perfect. I loved the timing of Syd finding out about Amir’s past and him coming to get her to help him back at the restaurant. It was a moment that showed how much they both secretly cared about each other, no one searches someone they know up unless they care.

The biggest revelation of this episode was obviously what happened to Liam after he left Maggie. Honestly I never could have foreseen that being what occurred. Based on Maggie’s face when she was being told the news, I do think that this will affect her feelings about Liam. Not necessarily because she still loves him but because she now has the complete story and not just her own side, she only really stopped being in love with him because he left her. It doesn’t mean that she ever stopped loving him or at least the idea of him. I am very interested to see where this lands the pair in the next episode.

This episode was very high stakes and ended with many unanswered questions, hopefully the two main questions we are left with at the end of the episode are answered early next episode!
