Netflix TV Show With 94% RT Score Renewed for Season 3

Things have moved very slowly ever since Community: The Movie was announced a couple of years ago. The film, based on the fan-favorite series, is welcoming back the show’s creator, Dan Harmon, who is writing the movie with Andrew Guest, as well as original cast members Joel McHale, Donald Glover, Alison Brie, Danny Pudi, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash, Ken Jeong, and Yvette Nicole Brown.

As for updates, Harmon recently revealed that he’s doing a final pass on the script, and though things are moving slowly, they are moving forward, and he asked fans to stop blaming Donald Glover for the holdup. Now, Glover’s co-star Joel McHale is echoing that sentiment.

McHale talked to GQ about the movie, and addressed rumors about Glover’s schedule pushing back filming:

“If it’s anybody’s fault, it’s my schedule on this one. It’s not his at all. He was available. No, no, no, no. Ok. I will say, and please print this. That was definitely not true. It was not Donald’s schedule. We love Donald. You can fully blame my schedule.”

The actor said the movie hasn’t been shot yet but hinted that it would probably happen in 2025.

“Oh, well, it hasn’t been shot yet. It will be. And I don’t have a definitive update because we thought for a moment it was going to all happen this year, and then it didn’t. But we have the money, and that is a huge step. And hopefully, people still want to see it. And Peacock’s paying for it. And so I can’t wait to do it. I’ll say vaguely next year. How about that?”

Earlier this year, Glover told Deadline he had been receiving a lot of hate on social media, with some people believing he was holding the film back.

“It’s happening but I don’t know when. I swear, it’s happening,” Glover told Deadline. “Everybody is hating on me on the internet and it’s not me! They’re like, ‘We know that you’re the reason.’ Maybe I was last year — maybe — but not this time.”

So we just have to keep being patient. Are you looking forward to Community: The Movie?
