The goal of this popular The New York Times online puzzle is to guess a five-letter word within six attempts. However, if a guessed letter is not in the answer, the corresponding block will remain grey. With the help of these visual clues, you need to find the word by figuring out the correct letters and their placement.

Without further ado, here are the NYT Wordle hints and answer for today.

The word is a commonly used adjective derived from the noun ‘Boss,’ and is used to describe someone with a domineering attitude. It most likely originated in the 1540s and had the meaning “swelling, projecting and rounded, decorated with bosses.” However, the word reached its present meaning some time in 1882.
