A few days after her appearance at a rally for Vice President Kamala Harris, Cardi B isn’t holding her tongue while she processes the results of the election.
Prior to the results of the Presidential election being called, Cardi took to X to voice her disdain for the outcome.
Cardi B shared, then promptly deleted a video message seemingly addressing early election results on Tuesday night.
“This is why some of y’all states be getting hurricanes,” the rapper said in the clip, which was deleted just a few minutes after it was posted on Tuesday evening.
Though Cardi didn’t mention the states she was referring to, her video came after the Associated Press called races in Florida, Louisiana, Texas and North Carolina in favor of Donald Trump. Prior to Trump’s official victory, she also tweeted, “We need a hail mary,” as results showed Kamala Harris trailing behind the convicted felon in other key swing states.
It’s no surprise that the Love & Hip Hop alum isn’t happy with the election results. On Friday, Cardi gave a speech at her rally in Wisconsin, where she admitted that she wasn’t even going to vote in this election until Joe Biden dropped out and Harris was added to the ticket.
“Just like Kamala Harris, I too have been the underdog,” she said to the audience. “I’ve been underestimated. My success, belittle and discredited. Women have to work 10 times harder, perform 10 times better, and still, people question us how we got to the top.”
Cardi also got into it with Elon Musk following her endorsement, with the X CEO criticizing a video of the rapper reading her speech off a phone after a teleprompter broke.
“Another puppet who can’t even talk without being fed the words,” he tweeted. “The Kamala campaign has no authenticity or true empathy.”
In response, Cardi wrote: “I’m not a puppet Elon.. I’m a daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their ass off to provide for me! I’m a product of welfare, I’m a product of section 8, I’m a product of poverty and I’m a product of what happens when the system is set up against you… But you don’t know nothing about that. You don’t know not one thing about the American struggle…. PS fix my algorithm.”
