Hi /r/movies. I’m Radu Jude. I’ve directed Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn, Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World, I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as Barbarians, Aferim!, and Kontinental ’25. My new movie, Dracula, is available now on digital. Ask me anything.

A recently released The Equalizer 4 trailer has caught the attention of fans online, fueling excitement over the possibility of Denzel Washington returning as Robert McCall. With The Equalizer 3 making waves, fans are hopeful that a new installment could bring even more intense action and justice-driven storytelling. However, questions remain about whether this anticipated Equalizer 4 trailer is real or just an impressive fan creation.

Here’s everything we need to know about the authenticity of The Equalizer 4 trailer.

Is The Equalizer 4 Trailer Real or Fake?

Sadly, The Equalizer 4 trailer circulating online is not real and is rather a fan-made video.

The trailer in question, uploaded by KH Studio, is not an official release. In the video description, the YouTube channel clarifies that the clip was crafted to imagine The Equalizer 4 if Denzel Washington were to return. Moreover, the description teases possible plotlines, including a shift to South America. It even suggests a potential villain played by Pierce Brosnan.

Check out the trailer below:

Despite the convincing editing, this trailer is purely fan-made. It uses AI-generated visuals and footage from Washington’s other films, including the previous installments of The Equalizer franchise, to create a seamless but fictional preview.

As of writing, the teaser trailer has garnered 202k views. This and the video’s creative editing have led some fans to believe it’s official. However, for now, The Equalizer 4 remains a fan dream rather than a confirmed project.

Will Denzel Washington Return for The Equalizer 4?

As of now, there’s no official confirmation from Denzel Washington or director Antoine Fuqua about The Equalizer 4.

The actor’s recent portrayal of Robert McCall in The Equalizer 3 was framed as the character’s final chapter. Neither Fuqua nor the studio has announced any plans for a fourth film. At Cinemacon in 2023, Washington also stated that this would be the end of The Equalizer series. This makes it highly unlikely that a fourth installment will happen.

The third movie in the franchise concluded on the southern coast of Italy. In it, Washington’s Robert McCall uprooted the local mafia and retired to a peaceful life. With no one left needing his assistance, he finally found peace.

While the idea of The Equalizer 4 with Denzel Washington reprising his role has added to fans’ excitement, the aforementioned trailer is purely fictional. For now, fans can only hope and perhaps enjoy the imaginative efforts of fan video creators.
