After teasing the record during the summer, Kendrick Lamar releases “squabble up” and delivers another epic visual for the track.

Over the weekend, Kendrick Lamar unexpectedly released his latest project, GNX. The name reportedly pays tribute to the Grand National his father drove home from the hospital after he was born and fans rejoiced on the first listen while listening to the track “squabble up.”

While “Not Like Us” was his victory lap in his beef with Drake, the music video for the track teased a “squabble up,” leaving fans demanding its release.

Now it’s here, and “squabble up” has a music video to go along with it.

Kendrick’s surprise album is expected to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, and “squabble up” is positioned hit #1. As we’ve come to anticipate, Kendrick and pgLang delivered dozens of Easter eggs throughout the video.

When Kendrick raps, “Don’t hit him, he got kids with him,” he pays tribute to”Caine’s death” in the film Menace II Society. Kendrick also portrays that moment in the video.

Another noticeable easter egg is the recreation of Ice-T’s iconic cover for Power. Ice-T has seen the video and he thanked Kendrick for the reference.

The late Issac Hayes also received a shoutout in the video as black Moses appeared in the background.

The video ends with Kendrick emphasizing the “Compton Christmas Parade” which could be an easter egg or hint of what’s to come. Either way, it’s an exciting time for the city and the Christmas Parade will be epic.
