The holidays always bring joyous occasions and Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence have one more thing to celebrate as their celebrity seeds are locked in for “Life!”
Murphy’s son, Eric, and Lawrence’s daughter, Jasmin, have been dating for many years and the couple announced their engagement on Nov. 27.
“We’re engaged!! God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny. We couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter,” they said in a joint post sharing the happy news.
The two Hollywood kids have been publicly connected since 2020 and their celebrity fathers have both spoken publicly on the possibility of their nuptials.
“We haven’t talked about it,” Lawrence said during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “We kind of just stay out of their business and let them do their own thing and respect their thing.”
He went on to say that if the pair tied the knot, he would “try to get Eddie to pay for it.” We’ll see how that turns out.
Both Eric and Jasmine are the eldest of their father’s children as Murphy has nine other kids and Lawrence has two additional daughters.
Lawrence and Murphy will, no doubt, reunite at their children’s impending nuptials; however, the two comedy titans have not collaborated onscreen since starring in the 1999 classic, Life.
Both Jasmine and Eric have joined in on the family business as they each played small roles in their father’s latest projects, Bad Boys For Life and Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. Eric took on the task of contributing automated dialogue replacement (ADR) for his father’s return to the iconic cop comedy by way of Netflix while Jasmine joined her dad and Will Smith for their return to the big screen as Marcus Miles Burnett and Mike Lowry.
Whether their children decide to continue in their famous father’s footsteps or not, the Murphy and Lawrence bloodlines will forever be intertwined.
