On Sunday, Saldana won the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role and gave an emotional acceptance speech.

It is no mean feat to win a Golden Globes award. On Sunday, Saldana joined the list of actors and actresses with a golden plaque in their cabinet and couldn’t hide her joy afterward.
A day after her maiden Golden Globes win, Saldana celebrated with her fans on Instagram.
She shared two pictures of herself savoring the beautiful moment. In the first snap, a smiling Saldana was on a bed, looking downwards with the golden plaque beside her.
In the second photo, a jovial Saldana looked surprised and opened her mouth wide in excitement while still on the bed.

Zoe Saldana’s Emotion-Laden Acceptance Speech
Saldana won her first Golden Globes for her exceptional portrayal of Rita Mora Castro in the musical thriller “Emilia Perez.”
She beat other nominees, including her costar Selena Gomez, “Wicked” actress Ariana Grande, “The Brutalist” star Felicity Jones, “The Substance” actress Margaret Qualley, and “Conclave” actress Isabella Rossellini to win the award.
After Saldana was announced as the winner, she climbed the stage and gave a tearful speech in which she thanked her costars, other nominees, and her family.
“This is a first time for me,” the actress remarked before acknowledging her other cast members and nominees. She also said she was “blessed to be sharing this moment” with them.
Saldana told the audience she was “filled with adrenaline” while her heart was “full of gratitude.”

She added, “My family, my mom is here, my sister, my husband, and my sons. I love you, I love you. You guys are everything.”
The 46-year-old, who was nominated for the Golden Globes for the first time, also thanked “Emilia Perez” director Jaques Audiard for “trusting” her “to play Rita.”

“Emilia Perez” cast members built a strong bond during filming that continued after the movie’s premiere.
During a chat with People on September 30, 2024, Zoe Saldana shared details of their close relationship.
She said, “It’s wonderful. To this day, there’s so much love, there’s so much respect. We’re rooting for each other. We’re happy for each other. We’re fixing each other’s makeup and wardrobes.”
Saldana revealed that the cast was excited about working on the project that they were “kind of childlike” when shooting the movie.
The “Guardians of the Galaxy” actress also shared that attending premieres together let the cast to “still maintain that joy because we knew we signed up for something special.”
She concluded, “We knew what it meant to us. And knowing that it’s becoming something special to so many people is impactful. It’s really impactful. So I think that that re-bonds us all over again.”

“Emilia Perez,” a Netflix crime original, was the most nominated film at the Golden Globes, and it ended up winning four awards at the end of the night.
Besides Zoe Saldana’s award for Best Supporting Actress, “Emilia Perez” won Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Original Song, and Best Foreign Language Film.
The film is about a Mexican cartel leader, played by Karla Sofia Gascon, who enlists an attorney (Saldana) to help her disappear so she can achieve her dream of transitioning into a woman.
