Jennifer Aydin of The Real Housewives of New Jersey star recently responded to Andy Cohen’s comments about her “self-inflicted wound” and revealed how her husband, Bill Aydin, felt about the situation.
In a candid interview with Us Weekly on January 8, Jennifer Aydin acknowledged Cohen’s remark that her social media post may have created unnecessary drama. “I did not see it. Somebody told me about it. I did not hear that,” Jennifer shared. “But you know what? I would say that’s accurate.”
The incident in question occurred when Jennifer posted a video on her Instagram, claiming that she waited “what felt like forever” for service at a Jersey Mike’s sandwich shop. Frustrated by the delay, she filmed herself expressing her dissatisfaction. However, the video quickly backfired, with one of the employees responding via TikTok.
Andy Cohen, during his January 6 Radio Andy show on SiriusXM, was quick to offer his critique. He referred to the incident as a “self-inflicted wound,” questioning the decision to post the video at all. “She melted down,” Cohen remarked. “And you know what, before you hit send on the post, take a beat and say, ‘How is this gonna land?’”
Jennifer Aydin now admits that perhaps posting the video wasn’t the best decision. Reflecting on Cohen’s words, she acknowledges that the backlash could have been avoided with a little more thought.
Meanwhile, Jennifer’s husband, Bill Aydin, didn’t exactly support her social media choice. “Bill’s not happy about it,” she revealed to Page Six, “He told me not to post the video.” As Jennifer explained, Bill is the “least confrontational person” and prefers to avoid public confrontations, especially those that may escalate into online drama. Although Bill witnessed some of the incident firsthand, he didn’t think it was necessary to share it with her massive Instagram following.
Despite Bill’s warnings, Jennifer felt compelled to post the video after discussing the situation with her friends. “When I got back to our group, everybody was so disgusted with the behavior [of the Jersey Mike’s employees and customers]. Everyone was all amped up,” she recalled.
Ultimately, Jennifer has come to terms with the fallout and admitted that in hindsight, posting the video wasn’t the best course of action.
As the dust settles, Jennifer seems to have learned a valuable lesson about navigating the sometimes unpredictable nature of social media, especially when it comes to reacting to frustrating situations in real-time.
