Netflix Drops ‘Temptation Island’ And Fans Have A Lot To Say

Netflix’s version of “Temptation Island” has officially debuted, bringing four couples who are ready to put their relationships to the ultimate test.

Hosted by Mark L. Walberg, the reality dating series follows couples at a pivotal moment in their relationships, facing challenges related to trust, intimacy, and long-term compatibility. Separated from their partners, they are surrounded by a group of alluring singles, known as “tempters” and “temptresses,” whose main goal is to stir up temptation and test their commitment.

As emotions run high and sparks fly, each participant on “Temptation Island” must confront their deepest doubts and desires, ultimately deciding whether to stay with their partner, leave alone, or pursue a new connection.

“Yet another dating show to CONFIRM what we already know: men are absolutely disgusting pos trash,” one user wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

Another called out one specific contestant. “Grant is literally sitting here saying he would marry Ashley if she let go of resentment & worked on changing, after he just had sex with another woman multiple times?” they wrote. “OMG. He might be the worst human being.”

A third said, “Why is it that all the single guys are being respectful and behaving themselves, but the guys in ‘committed relationships’ are acting like horny desperate pigs?”

Someone else pointed out, “If your partner ever says to you ‘I wanna go on ‘The Ultimatum’ or ‘Temptation Island,’ pack your stuff & leave. Cause ain’t no way you’re so unsure of our bond that you wanna go on television & mess with other people.

Though they made sure to add, “Thanks to the people that say yes though, it’s great tv.”

One viewer admitted, “I think it’s a bit unhealthy when you binge watch an entire 10 episodes of a trash tv reality show in a day…,” adding the “Guilty” GIF.

This season of “Temptation Island” brings four couples who are facing major crossroads in their relationships. Each pair is hoping to gain clarity on their future together, but temptation and trust issues may stand in the way.

Shanté, a 29-year-old clinical healthcare professional and Pilates instructor, and Brion, a 26-year-old in medical and pharmaceutical sales, have been together for a year and both dream of starting a family. However, their relationship has been clouded by trust issues after Brion was involved with another woman early on. While he’s determined to prove his commitment, Shanté struggles to fully move past the betrayal.

Ashley, a 28-year-old accountant, CPA, and entrepreneur, and Grant, a 28-year-old business owner, have had a rocky relationship for the past year and a half. Their cycle of breaking up and making up stems from Grant’s infidelity early in their relationship, which has left Ashley with major trust issues. As she works on prioritizing her own needs, Grant is set on proving he has changed.

Alexa, a 28-year-old labor and delivery travel nurse, and Lino, a 28-year-old health coach and personal trainer, have been together for three years but want to be completely sure of their connection before settling down. Lino, who has never been in a serious relationship before, wants to explore if Alexa is truly “the one,” while Alexa hopes to gain more confidence and independence.

Their relationship has already been tested by past dishonesty, early on, Alexa dated other people while claiming they were exclusive, leaving Lino questioning whether he was ever her first choice.

Tayler, a 30-year-old health education specialist and certified personal trainer, and Tyler, a 27-year-old sales professional and model, jumped into a relationship immediately after Tyler ended his six-year marriage. With limited dating experience, Tyler sees “Temptation Island” as an opportunity for self-discovery, while Tayler hopes he will explore his options and ultimately choose her in the end.

The first iteration of “Temptation Island” aired on Fox from 2001 to 2003. The series was later revived in 2018 by NBCUniversal’s USA Network, where it ran for five seasons.
