Jaime King Reportedly ‘Struggling’ Financially Amid Custody Drama

Jaime King is said to be facing financial difficulties, forcing her to move out of her Los Angeles rental home while dealing with the emotional toll of losing custody of her children.

The actress’s legal battle with estranged husband Kyle Newman took a turn for the worse, with Newman securing sole custody of their sons, James and Leo.

Jaime King’s custody fight with Kyle Newman has been ongoing, but the latest ruling leaves her with only visitation rights. 

King is facing a major lifestyle shift, moving out of her Los Angeles rental home and into a more affordable space as financial troubles mount.

A source close to the star revealed that her finances have been in trouble for years, worsened by a costly custody battle with ex-husband Kyle Newman. The insider shared:

“She has been struggling with her finances for years now after some failed film ventures, but the custody fight and having to fight all the accusations made against her in court drained her bank accounts.”

King reportedly moved to the $10,000-a-month home in the Hollywood Hills after selling her longtime Beverly Hills home for $2 million following her divorce in 2022.

Photos obtained by The Sun show King’s belongings, furniture, a wooden daybed, and even a mini trampoline, piled on the curb as she transitions to a smaller, more budget-friendly living arrangement.

King is reportedly reeling after losing custody of her two sons, with those close to her hoping it serves as a much-needed “tough wakeup call.”

A source shared that King is also deeply “devastated and embarrassed” by the situation. “Now that the world knows, it’s made everything that much harder. It causes a wedge in personal and work relationships,” they revealed.

The TV personality has long battled personal struggles, but the combination of family turmoil, career setbacks, and financial hardship has pushed her to a breaking point. “And I’m sure things others don’t even know about, she can be very private about what she’s going through,” the insider added.

King may have lost sole custody of her two sons, but she will still have the opportunity to see them under strict conditions. While her ex-husband, Kyle Newman, now has primary custody and final decision-making authority, King has been granted supervised visits three times a week.

The Blast reports that her supervised visits can be overseen by select family members, including her mother, sister, brother-in-law, and Newman’s brother, Kevin. However, full parental rights will not be restored until she completes several mandated programs.

King must undergo a 6-month drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, submit to regular testing, and participate in a 26-week parenting course. Individual therapy and potential counseling with her children are also required before she can seek unsupervised access.

Newman painted a troubling picture of King’s parenting, claiming their two sons, James and Leo, were left emotionally distressed while in her care.

In his 2024 court filing, Newman recalled receiving a heartbreaking call from his children, who were in tears and begging him to pick them up from King’s home.

When he arrived early that morning, he found their mother in a concerning state, sitting on the floor in a varsity jacket with her hair in pigtails, seemingly wearing little to no pants.

Two men were also present in the home, and King appeared disoriented and exhausted from drinking, reportedly needing Newman’s help to stand. She then made an unsettling comment, stating:

“Those are bad boys. We have to do something about our boys. Their behavior is not right.”

King pushed back against accusations of child neglect, calling them nothing more than a calculated attack from her ex-husband. Through her attorney, Diana D. Hagopian, the mother-of-two firmly denied Newman’s claims, stating they are baseless and designed to tarnish her reputation.

Hagopian dismissed the allegations as a legal ploy meant to inflict harm and generate negative press rather than genuinely address the children’s well-being. 

She also accused Newman of exploiting the legal system to advance his own agenda, using their boys as pawns without regard for their privacy.

Her attorney emphasized that King is dedicated to ensuring the youngsters grow up in a stable, healthy environment, regardless of the accusations being thrown her way.
