Socialites, get into this: In previous statements, it was inaccurately claimed that Alex Yam, a Chinese-American agent based in California, engaged in corrupt practices by stealing money from Noah Vonleh’s contract during his first season in China. It was also stated that without his consent, Alex Yam and the Shanghai Sharks forged initials onto a representation agreement, allowing them to illegally take agency fees from his contract.
However, the reality is quite different. Upon further investigation, it has been clarified that Alex Yam never represented Noah Vonleh and is not affiliated with Pensack Sports, according to sources. Their only interaction occurred in passing at an NBA Summer League event several years ago, according to sources.
The legal team representing Pensack Sports has come forward with even more clarifications. While speaking with TMZ, they claim that the ex-NBA lottery pick is actually on a “malicious harassment, defamation, and extortion campaign” against the agency, which is entirely in the wrong, according to their perspective.
The 29-year-old former Indiana Hoosiers standout has reportedly been vocal on social media, expressing his frustrations about being stiffed out of money he claims he was owed from the Chinese Basketball Association’s Shanghai Sharks. He even took to posting videos to show his alleged mistreatment after his contract was terminated in February 2024.
Yet, the agency revealed that it is Vonleh who allegedly owes them a substantial sum of $235,000 following an arbitration case won against him for unpaid agent fees. Whew!
Attorney Mitch Schuster explained,
“Mr. Vonleh did not appeal the decision after he lost and has yet to pay the amount owed.”
Schuster elaborated to the outlet, stating,
“Since the ruling, in an effort to avoid his financial obligation, Mr. Vonleh has engaged in a malicious harassment, defamation, and extortion campaign in which he has made blatantly false accusations against Pensack Sports.”
The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) has attempted to mediate the situation, but as it stands, they have not succeeded in getting Vonleh to cooperate. The dispute has now escalated to federal court, with Pensack Sports seeking the funds they are owed based on the arbitration award.
Schuster went on to say,
“Despite the ongoing harassment, defamation, and extortion Mr. Vonleh has directed towards my client, Pensack Sports remains committed to resolving this matter through the proper legal channels.”

The athlete continue to post on social media about the alleged mistreatment he claims he faced. His latest post on Instagram suggests that he may be taking a legal L soon and is possibly willing to accept it. However, he also said,
“Can’t wait till this is over. Regardless of the outcome. Be careful who you do business with.”
