With more Taylor Swift projects on the horizon, some fans are hopeful the pop star’s press tour will include Kylie Kelce‘s podcast.
News broke on Monday, December 8, that Swift, 35, will make an appearance on the Wednesday, December 10, episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, causing Swifties online to spiral in typical fashion with theories about where the singer might pop up next — including Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie.”
“If she’s doing a press run for the doc, what if, just what if, she goes on ngl on thursday,” one fan tweeted on Monday alongside a GIF of a skeleton’s jaw dropping.
Another user wrote, “I want her to do NGL just because I want to know what she’d say in her introduction 😭😭.”
Guests for Kelce’s fan-favorite podcast are typically announced on Wednesdays, one day before the episodes drop. The teasers often include footage of the guest stating their name and sharing a hot take they hold deeply. For many fans on social media, the words “I’m Taylor Swift and I’m not gonna lie” would start a frenzy.
Since Kelce’s podcast debuted in late 2024, listeners have been hopeful Swift might make a surprise appearance. Earlier this year, Swift gave her very first podcast interview on “New Heights,” hosted by Travis and Jason Kelce. Swift announced her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, on the record-breaking episode. Her engagement to Travis, 36, made headlines weeks later.
On her own show, Kylie has made rare references to her brother-in-law’s relationship, but she doesn’t want listeners to only tune in for tea. In September, Kylie explained why she’s “made a very conscious effort to not discuss” the couple’s private life on her podcast.
“Here’s where I think there’s a disconnect,” she said at the time. “People do not realize that you at home, you have your family, and in your family, you might have a brother-in-law and they might be dating someone. You might have a soon-to-be sister-in-law. But you have a relationship personally with them that no one else is involved in, because it’s your relationship.”
Kylie continued, “I don’t need to come out here and make statements when I already talk to them. You see what I’m saying? … I don’t need you to take my comments and try and dissect it.”
Though she might not have shared her excitement for the pair’s engagement publicly, Kylie emphasized that her and Jason’s happiness “goes without saying.”
“We are so excited that they are taking this next step,” she added. “[My daughters] are so excited to get another aunt. I am so truly happy for them and I feel so grateful that we get to welcome Taylor into our family in a more official capacity. But it’s our private relationship. … I don’t need to talk about them all the time.”
Kylie’s mentions of Travis and Swift are few and far between, but some of Us have an easy time picking up on the Easter eggs. Last month, Kylie gave a subtle shout-out to Swift for her baking talents.
“We do have some well-known bakers in the family,” she said on the pre-Thanksgiving episode. “Taylor makes a banging sourdough loaf. I mean, it’s so good. And pop-tarts.”
Fans will get an even closer look behind the scenes of Swift’s life when Taylor Swift: The End of an Era debuts on Disney+ Friday, December 12. The six-part docuseries will chronicle Swift’s journey to producing her massive Eras Tour — and will give a peek at her relationship with Travis.
Along with the docuseries, a concert movie titled Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show is dropping Friday with the addition of the Tortured Poets Department set.
