EXCLUSIVE: Industry EP Kate Crowther has been promoted to become Bad Wolf‘s Director of Production, replacing Emily Russell, who recently exited.
Russell, who had been with Bad Wolf for just over two years, handed over to Crowther, who was previously an exec at the Doctor Who outfit, at the start of 2026.
Russell joined Bad Wolf from New Pictures in 2023, where she had worked on the likes of No Escape and Champion. She has spent the past couple of years overseeing production at the Sony label, working on shows like the BBC’s Dope Girls.
Crowther, who joined Bad Wolf in 2020, has taken on the Director of Production role and joined Bad Wolf’s senior management team while continuing her EP duties. She has been EPing the splashy fourth season of the BBC and HBO’s Industry, along with the upcoming The Other Bennet Sister for the BBC and BritBox.
“Kate has expertly helmed Industry and The Other Bennet Sister for Bad Wolf as well as a host of acclaimed dramas including Doctor Foster and Raised By Wolves,” said a Bad Wolf spokesman. “She will continue to Executive Produce Industry and other Bad Wolf titles alongside Jane Tranter and Dan McCulloch. Emily Russell decided to leave her Director of Production role at Bad Wolf and handed over to Kate at the start of the year.”
Run by Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner, Bad Wolf makes the likes of Doctor Who, which recently lost its Disney co-pro partner, His Dark Materials and Red Eye. Its recent annual results for the year to March 31 2025 showed turnover and profit were slashed by more than half to £40.7M ($55M) and £4.3M respectively.
