Amanda Frances is seen confronting Dorit Kemsley about the research she did into her cult past in a sneak peek at this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Following weeks of back and forth between the two, Amanda, 41, and Dorit, 49, are once again at odds, as Amanda wonders what Dorit’s intention was when she researched her past ties to a cult and proceeds to question her in front of the group amid a cast dinner.
“You brought up the cult the other night at the dinner. What was your intention when you went back 357 blog posts to a blog I wrote 14 years ago?” Amanda asks in a clip of the March 12 episode.
“If I was annoyed with somebody, I’d do a deep dive,” Kathy Hilton, 66, replies before Dorit can respond.
“Definitely didn’t read 357 blog posts,” Rachel Zoe, 54, also adds.
Then, Amanda asks, “But how did you get there?” Dorit then explains, “It’s called Google.”
“If you search ‘Amanda Frances cult,’ it doesn’t come up. No. I checked,” Amanda fires back, as Bozoma “Boz” Saint John, 49, notes that “it sure does.”
“But is it something to be hidden?” Boz wonders.
“No, I’m not [hiding] it at all. It just feels like a deep dive. Were you looking on dirt?” Amanda questions Dorit.
At that point, Dorit suggests she was looking for information about Amanda’s book when she came across her years-old blog post.
“I mean, you should take it as a compliment because I don’t usually Google anyone, but you had said that you sold hundreds of thousands of books, and so I went to research your book, and I came across this blog,” she reveals.
Dorit then asks, “What did you experience?”
“We want to talk about the cult right now?” Amanda replies.
“Well, you’re talking about it,” Dorit reasons.
Although Amanda begins to explain how reward and punishment worked, Erika Jayne, 54, cuts in, advising Amanda to start with how she got involved.
“The purpose of the cult is like, is it a religion? Give us a highlight reel,” Rachel adds.
As RHOBH fans may have seen, Amanda opened up about her past involvement with a cult during an interview on Access Hollywood’s Housewives Nightcap in January.
“I was involved in a church for about two years that was highly controlling, isolated, very manipulative. It fits every single criteria for a cult,” she shared. “And so when I was starting my business, I started a blog. And my whole career, my whole life, I’ve written about whatever was real and true for me. So my very first blog that you can still find on AmandaFrances.com, the very first one was the cult story.”
“And I was just trying to reconcile, make sense of what I had been through: how do you trust yourself to make decisions as a young woman if you accidentally joined a cult somehow?” she added. “I was just trying to work that out for myself … Religious abuse is a thing. Cultic dynamics happen.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 15 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
