Amanda Batula Said West Wasn’t ‘Marriage Material’ Pre-Romance

This was a genuinely fantastic episode, I am really glad that we are getting at least a two part and possibly three part end to this season.
First of all I am loving that we are getting to see the father/son relationship blossom between Martin and Peter. The scene where Martin shows up to Peter’s presentation was so great, and Peter’s immediate response to the question of whether or not Martin was his dad showed how much the two care about each other. I really liked when Peter told Martin that he would want him to be his dad and that he doesn’t want him to change because otherwise he wouldn’t be him.
Josh Segarra was once again great in this episode. Watching Mark list off the things he has been through in the last couple of his months really makes you realise that despite his happy disposition he hasn’t had it easy. This is yet another thing that Mark is having to deal with but at least this time he has Martin and Louisa to lean on.
We got to see a good storyline for Greg and George this episode. We also got a little bit more information about the couple and that they are married. I liked that it was portrayed in a good way as to why they didn’t want to tell the rest of the town about getting married. It was one of the more serious moments of the episode and I think it was great.
Martin was definitely a great addition to the town committee this episode and after him finding out the truth about their visitors should land him a permanent place on the board. I found it hilarious that they asked Martin to do it because they knew that he would be in a suit.
Despite their conversation essentially ending their relationship before it starts, Martin and Louisa were still acting like a couple for the majority of this episode. I was genuinely shocked when Martin grabbed Louisa and turned her towards him. I think it was great that Martin is trying to help Louisa with her wanting a child and it can’t have been easy for him to arrange for her to see his ex.
After her fertility meeting, I do wonder what is going to happen for Louisa’s hopes to have a child. Her face when she saw Peter run and hug Martin showed she definitely isn’t over him and I do wonder if there will be a further conversation between the two of them about the information she has been told.
Obviously this episode ended on a to be continued card, I am really looking forward to seeing what happens with this storyline after this episode. Hopefully some form of repercussion will happen to Glendon after his back stabbing of the town.
