If any character could be described as the “main character” of the MCU over the past few years, it’s Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. Not only has she taken a leading role in multiple projects, but her impact can still be felt years after her death. This has left some people convinced that the character is locked to appear in Avengers: Doomsday.
However, there’s currently no concrete information when it comes to whether or not the Scarlet Witch will ever TRULY return in the MCU. Some rumors hint that Elizabeth Olsen may be playing a rather substantial role in Avengers: Doomsday. Though given that even acknowledging she’s in the movie is a massive spoiler, the actress has mostly kept quiet on the subject.
Is The Scarlet Witch In Avengers: Doomsday?
Elizabeth Olsen recently made an appearance at the Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo (via ComicBookMovie.com). With Avengers: Doomsday currently being the talk of the town, the actress was, of course, asked what she knew about the upcoming film. Sadly, it seems as though the Scarlet Witch is likely missing out on the next big crossover event.
“I know nothing. I know about VisionQuest, because I’ve seen Paul [Bettany] in the last six months. I know nothing about any of it. Is [Secret Wars] what happens after? I’m not kidding. Why did I think there were two Secret Wars? Are there not?”
Of course, as with any actor in the MCU, there’s a better chance than not that Elizabeth Olsen is lying when it comes to not knowing anything about Avengers: Doomsday. And with the Mutant Saga just around the corner, it’s almost certain that her version of Scarlet Witch will soon either be getting one final send-off or a rebirth into a new era.
