Tigers Jaw are feeling time all around them. Since emerging from a Scranton, Pennsylvania basement in 2005, members have come and gone. Their sound has matured, grounded in the harmonic interplay between core members Brianna Collins and Ben Walsh. Peers they’ve toured with have disbanded or spun off in different directions. Their latest full-length, Lost on You, faces up to that reality with a mirror on its cover, reflecting their very memories back at them.
“When we were on a drive through the Redwoods, all of the guys took a dip in a cold creek, and I took a photo that ended up being the reference for the painting on the front cover,” Collins said in a recent Reddit AMA. “I interpret the front and back cover frames as portals. ‘You’ve been here before, you’ll be here again.’”

That sentiment pops up again and again throughout Lost on You. Produced and engineered by Will Yip at Studio 4 in Philly, their seventh studio LP taps into the passing of time — and the notion that while change is inevitable, sometimes you can’t help landing back at the beginning. Bookended by conversations with former and future selves, Lost on You is full of revelation. They sit with hard truths, track patterns, and understand themselves a little better than yesterday. By the time album highlight “Baptized on a Redwood Drive” hits, they’re lifting themselves out of the heaviness to meet the present with warmth and benevolence.
An even more satisfying chapter awaits: Tigers Jaw recently took those songs on the road, kicking off with a release show at Rough Trade in Manhattan. It was an intimate, bare-bones performance, where most of the set was shaped by songs from Lost on You. They capped it with “Between Your Band and the Other Band,” a favorite off their 2008 self-titled. Before and after the show, Tigers Jaw signed LPs, snapped photos with fans, and received homemade merch. Collins took AP through that day, from load-in to a champagne toast.
