Ever since its announcement, Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film, Ramayana, has been generating buzz. The film is back in the news, gaining everyone’s attention over its rumored stellar star cast.

The film stars popular actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash in the lead roles. However, recent reports suggest Sunny Deol may play Hanuman in the movie. The adaptation is a collaboration between co-producers Nitesh, Madhu Mantena, Namit Malhotra, and Allu Aravind.

Sunny Deol most likely to play Hanuman In Ramayana

Sunny Deol is a strong fit for the role and has expressed interest in portraying Lord Hanuman in Ramayana, which covers just a portion of the deity’s life. The filmmaker is also considering him for both the trilogy and a standalone film.

As per reports, “The Ramayana is just a small part of Lord Hanuman’s life, and there are many other facets to the story. Nitesh wants to explore that with a standalone film on Lord Hanuman. Everything needs to fall in place – from the date of the shoot to the commitment for the franchise spin-offs and the financial structure.”

The actor has never portrayed a mythological character in his previous roles. However, the director of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha recently revealed that the movie drew inspiration from the Ramayana. At the press conference of the sequel, Gadar 2, Anil Sharma said, “What was Gadar? The first Gadar was Ramayana.

Rama ji goes to Lanka to bring back Sita. I thought this was Ramayana, this won’t flop because it resides in the people’s hearts. The story of the second was Mahabharata: what if when Abhimanyu is stuck in the Chakravyuh, Arjun himself comes to rescue him? No one could’ve failed that story because it resides in the people’s hearts as well.”

Thus, Sunny Deol’s fans can anticipate his appearance in Aamir Khan‘s upcoming production, directed by the renowned Bollywood filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi.
