I’ve got an awesome piece of poster art to share with you today inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s classic 1980 horror film The Shining. The art was created by Adam Rabalis for Hero Complex Gallery, and it’s called “A Master of Modern Horror.”
I love this poster art and the creepy hands reaching up out of the floor of the hotel toward Jack Torrance. This is a great poster for fans of this film to add to their collection. The poster is a limited edition of 150 and the 24×36 print is available for purchase for $70.
The film is a psychological horror based on the novel by Stephen King. The story revolves around Jack Torrance, an aspiring writer and recovering alcoholic, who accepts a position as the winter caretaker of the remote Overlook Hotel. Jack moves to the hotel with his family, including his wife Wendy and their young son Danny, who possesses psychic abilities known as “the shining.” As the winter sets in and the hotel becomes isolated, supernatural forces within the building begin to influence Jack’s sanity. The hotel’s dark history and Danny’s psychic visions contribute to a growing sense of dread and horror.
Jack’s descent into madness and the chilling events that unfold make The Shining a gripping exploration of the impact of isolation, the supernatural, and the the human psyche.
